I hesitate to say I hated this movie, because I didn't. I want to hate it, I desperately want to hate it. I can't though, mostly because if anything it did get me thinking.
This film was the polar opposite of the first which I reviewed a little over a year ago. Whereas the first was artful and creative with its character construction, they knew with this film that the characters were already built our and despite being put into very straining situations there was very little character growth. Heck, the whole play of how the number 7 connected the two Nana's was almost completely avoided, although I imagine some could argue this is a good thing.
One of the oddities of this film is of the six main characters, three were played by different actors than in the original film. I honestly didn't even notice, save the fact that I was wondering why Ryuhei Matsuda's character had received such a bit part, 
as he was one of the larger focuses of the first film. This was why I did some research and found out that it wasn't even him. They do their best to mask this by hiding his face for most of scenes he is in, often having his back to the camera, or more creatively having him reading while wearing a baseball cap.
This film, in stark contrast to its predecessor, is largely a series of unfortunate events and ends on an exceedingly sour note. The climax of the film involves the happy go lucky Nana finding out she is pregnant. Having recently dumped the guitarist from Trapnest (whom she only sought in a moment need) for the guitarist from BLAST who genuinely cares for her, she is uncertain which is the father. The guitarist from Trapnest (Takumi) offers to marry her, and after some reluctance she agrees. She moves in with him just in time for him to leave on a 6 month tour. While Trapnest gathers outside, the lead singer makes a comment about how Takumi has a wife in the UK, though this fact is never again mentioned. At the end of the movie, Nana cries while holding the other Nana, realizing she has ruined her life.
When the credits rolled I was genuinely surprised, expecting some kind of at least semi-happy resolve.
The movie ends with everyone's life in shambles. Not only for the massive change in direction, but the genuine lack of style which the other film pulled off fairly well, I have to say this film didn't even come close to living up to the first film. I was genuinely disappointed in this film.
As I've told people with the original Matrix, if you liked it, don't see the sequel, the same applies to this, unless you enjoy seeing characters and concepts you've grown to like being terribly abused.

Synopsis: Takemoto, an art college student, lives in a student house with 2 of his sempai, Morita and Mayama. Not knowing what he wants to do in the future, still looking for his real purpose, Takemoto`s life takes a sudden turn when his teacher introduces his relative to him, the cute and overly shy Hagumi. Without even realising it at first he falls in love with her. And so does Morita. Well, i was highly anticipating this film since i like the manga and anime series - as i can relate (yea, as i liked a girl but she liked another guy and that guy likes another while someone also likes me, but i can't like younger girls at that time, etc...tsk - those one-sided feelings...) I also became a fan of the band, Spitz, when i came acros this series (since the title of the manga came from Spitz' songs and the ending songs of the anime is from Spitz and the art school which was based from is the school where one of the band members or all of them studied) When i first heard the news of this adaptation - i was like - how will they find an actress for Hagu-chan?! Then i finally saw the cast - and was weh? and a bit disappointed when she was not a child (well, Hagu is not really a child, kinda like a small adorable lady who doesn't look her age)...but then when i finally was able to watch it - i was like - WOW - she really got Hagu's character. And to my surprise as i collect stuffs i need to complete this post (the synopsis, year of release, director, etc..) I found out that Yu Aoi (Hagu-chan's actress) won 5 awards for the film!! BoA's comeback to Korea has been successful with her 1st win on Music Bank's K-Charts this past Friday. With the support of her fans, Hurricane Venus has managed to constantly stay #1 in album sales on the Hanteo charts. But she's not only getting support from her fans, but her family at SM Entertainment as well!
SHINee has already taken several pictures with BoA backstage, posing with stances from each others choreography. Heechul from Super Junior is known to be a very good friend of BoA's and he can also be seen doing the "V" from the Hurricane Venus choreography. Recently, it's been reported that SNSD members Yoona, Sooyoung, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Jessica, and Sunny visited BoA's waiting room on this week's Music Bank to congratulate her on her comeback. Because of schedule conflicts, they could not be present during her first week of comebacks and stated, "As expected, it was a great performance. Unnie is the best!"
SM Entertainment's representative said, "Due to filming, SNSD was in Thailand and just arrived in Korea this morning. As soon as they arrived, they went straight to Music Bank and monitored BoA's performance."
SNSD members Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun could not make it with the rest of their group to congratulate BoA due to their busy schedules.

BoA's reply was that she wanted to get to know Eunhyuk more and decided to go with "Let's Get Closer Project" via twitter. Then again, this means Eunhyuk needs to visit his twitter more as he isn't a regular visitor or BoA will throw out another teasing comment. "Also, the reason that I just can't get along with Eunhyuk-sshi!!!! He doesn't Twitter-reply ke ke."

BoA Wins #1 on Music Bank's K-Chart!!
Tomorrow night will be the Music Core Sokcho Special and there is no awards given out. Inkigayo will air Sunday, August 15th at 4PM KST. Will she be able to make this a double win for this weekend? Congratulations BoA!

BoA at ATHENA
We previously announced that BoA will star in a U.S. dance flick with filming beginning in early 2011. Now, it has been announced that BoA will make a special appearance in one of the most anticipated upcoming dramas of the year, ATHENA: Goddess of War. The drama is a spin-off of IRIS, one of the biggest, most expensive and popular drama of 2009. With IRIS getting great feedback, ATHENA: Goddess of War is expected to do the same. BoA will join fellow SM artist Choi Siwon of Super Junior, who has also been cast as a permanent character. ATHENA: Goddess of War is scheduled to broadcast in November. Hopefully, it will live up to IRIS, which had an average rating of 31.9% nationwide.
Update: It has been revealed that BoA will play a singer performing on stage, when she is taken hostage by terrorists and will be aided by character Jung Woo. She will shoot her scene for the drama sometimes this month.
In other news, TVDaily has written an article about BoA and Kim Heechul of Super Junior, showing off their close friendship. It's no secret how close the two are, with fans seeing them tweet each other all day long. BoA recently appeared his radio show, 'Kim Heechul's Young Street' as a guest on August 9th. A picture of Heechul looking at her affectionately was revealed on her twitter with a caption saying, "Taking pictures of each other during Young Street." Heechul also revealed a picture of BoA on his own twitter saying, "Let's take photos of each other during the radio broadcast."
Apparently, the two had been very close friends since his trainee days. BoA entered SM Entertainment at the age of 11 and released her first Korean album in 2000. Heechul was discovered through the Starlight Casting System October in 2002.
In regards to the photos, there have been replies such as "I'm really jealous of their close friendship" and "Take photos of each other often and upload them."

BoA becomes a trend setter and has 20k+ in sales
After an impressive comeback stage on KBS's Music Bank, many Korean sites and even worldwide favorites, such as Twitter, 'blew up' in the BoA craze. we just could not surpass the topic that was sweeping the United States that day, Prop 8. However, during Music Bank, BoA fans attempted to trend 'Hurricane Venus' again on Twitter and succeeded!
BoA's 6th Korean album has only been on sale for two days, but the long-awaited comeback album has already sold 28,000 copies. Who knows, maybe BoA can get to 50k or even 100k like her SMTOWN family members, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, and Shinee, eh? Only time will tell.

We suspected that SM Entertainment would make BoA's Hurricane Venus available on iTunes since all SM artists that has released an album this year was already on iTunes. It seems our hunch was correct! So if, for some reason, you cannot order the album on YesAsia, DVD Heaven, gmarket, or whatever the reason, try iTunes! Don't have a credit card? Buy an iTunes card at your local store.
The album itself is $9.99, but if you'd rather have certain tracks, those are $0.99 each. We do not know if the sales on iTunes will reflect towards any of the many charts in Korea.

BoA Will Not Appear on Variety Shows
Many BoAjjang members have been expressing their desires for BoA to appear on the many variety shows Korea has to offer, such as Strong Heart or Star King. For those not familiar with Korea's variety shows, Strong Heart is "an intense talk show with 25 of Korea's top stars. The last celebrity who survives the heated discussions will be crowned the winner, or 'Strong Heart'." (soompi) Current Star King episodes 'have contestants come from all over the world to showcase their talents in front of a panel of celebrities.However, BoA told Newsen in a recent interview that she is not planning to participate in variety shows, and instead, will focus solely on performing. According to BoA, “The reason is because I don’t have the confidence to give laughter if I appear on variety shows. The BoA that the masses want is not the BoA on variety shows but the BoA who presents a good performance. It is priority that I work on showing good performances.”
